Unique Minds Unite is a program designed to empower the minds of unique-minded individuals ages 9-14.
Structure, art, mindfulness, visualization, movement, and problem-solving are weaved in to cultivate an environment that naturally brings out each child’s inner genius and potential.
Together, we are working towards a shared goal of creating an inclusive and safe environment for growing innovating and curious minds.
Early adolescent years are a formative time for our kids.
Middle school years can be an especially hard time for neurodivergent kids.
Traditional school systems often can be:
Overcrowded and overstimulating exerting pressure on students to conform to standardized environments
Designed with a deficit model with an overfocus on fixing neurodivergent students’ weaknesses
Overshadow neurodivergent students’ special interests, gifts, and abilities and in turn deny them opportunities to cultivate inner potential
School should be a place for instilling confidence yet often times it can do the exact opposite.
As a parent, it can be disheartening to acknowledge your child’s capabilities yet constantly be reminded they don’t meet certain benchmarks.
You may come to understand that your child may not be intended to adhere to conventional standards but rather to forge their own unique path.
What if we acknowledged the early adolescent years as an opportune time to help guide our kids to forge their own unique path?
What if we designed an environment that harnessed the magic of the middle school years?
What if we invested in our kids’ innate uniqueness, curiosity, and imagination?
What if we trusted kids to help build their own school?
At the heart of innovation is curiosity, imagination, energy, and creativity, all characteristics that kids naturally embody.
I envision an environment that cultivates kids’ inner genius and potential, and that invites kids to design, create, and shape the very ecosystem they are a part of.
Kids are eager to create, and our programs provide kids the tools to create tangible things from their unique minds.
